Frequently asked

Questions about getting started.

Where are sessions available?

All sessions are online. You must be physically located in California at the time of your appointment. Drisana is based in Palm Springs.

How do online sessions work?

After you become a client, appointment information and a secure telehealth link are provided through SimplePractice. You will need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

What happens during the consultation?

The complimentary 15-minute phone consultation is a brief chance to describe what you are looking for, ask questions about Drisana’s approach, discuss fees and scheduling, and consider whether scheduling an intake feels right. It is not a therapy session and does not establish an ongoing therapeutic relationship.

Do you accept insurance?

Oasis Somatic Psychotherapy does not accept insurance directly and is considered an out-of-network provider. Coverage depends on your plan, so contact your insurer directly to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.

Are superbills or HSA/FSA payments available?

Superbills are available for clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement, but reimbursement is not guaranteed. HSA and FSA cards are accepted when applicable.

What if I am not sure somatic therapy is right for me?

You do not need to decide in advance. The consultation is an appropriate place to ask about the approach, and you can also begin with conversation in therapy. Somatic invitations are collaborative, not mandatory.

Is this website appropriate for urgent help?

No. This site and consultation requests are not monitored continuously. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

A first step

You don't have to know exactly what to say.
